At the Deca Wakeboard Park
The Deca Wakeboard Park is the newest water sports sensation in Davao City. Opened to the public in August 28, 2009, this man-made lake has since become one of the top wakeboarding destinations, and is considered to be the biggest wakeboarding facility to date in the Philippines, and a first of its kind in Davao. It is located in Barangay Tacunan, Mintal, Davao City, about 30 to 45 minutes away from downtown Davao City, and is easily accessible.
The Park features state-of-the-art overhead cable system that catapults wakeboarders around the facility at varying speeds. Ramps and slides are strategically situated around the lake to provide wakeboarders more daring acrobatic challenges and fun at the same time.
Wakeboarding is a widely popular extreme water sport that combines the techniques of snow boarding, water skiing and surfing. It involves riding on a board above the water surface with the rider towed by an overhead cable, then hits a wake to launch in the air, and performs often difficult wakeboarding maneuvers at competition speeds.
Lifeguards are always on standby to provide safety to the riders. The riders are strictly required to wear vests, and helmets at all times for safety. Beginners are thoroughly briefed before they are allowed to ride.

How To Get To Deca Wakeboard Park
There are no specific transports that service to the Deca Wakeboard Park. There is, however, a minibus ride “All Aboard” from Bankerohan Market in Davao City that passes through Mintal where the Park is located. From Mintal, a 5 minute tricycle ride will take you to the Park. Taxi ride from downtown Davao City is readily available, and it usually takes 30 minutes to get to the site. Another way is by air-conditioned bus bound for Calinan, Bukidnon or Cagayan de Oro via BUDA Road (Bukidnon-Davao National Highway) which passes through Mintal.
