The Peak

The ever changing city skyline of Davao is brought about by the tremendous infusion of foreign and local investments in the city. No businessman in his right mind would ever infuse fresh capital to a business venture without the clear guarantee of early return of, and sustainable income from his investments in mind. Absolute trust in the city government's dynamic leadership and confidence in  the stability of city's economic activities top among the list of very important considerations in a businessman's mind in his pursuit of doing business in the locality. Of course, the success of Davao City government's initiatives would have not been possible without the unwavering support of the Dabawenyos who, after all, ultimately reap and enjoy the benefits of the city's progress, and for whom only its elected leaders had purposely intended to provide for the upliftment, pride and dignity of its constituents.

The ultra-modern THE PEAK at Gaisano Mall in J. P. Laurel Avenue in Bajada, is a welcome addition to the ever increasing structures that dominate the city skyline of Davao City. Perched on the rooftop of Gaisano Mall, it provides a panoramic 360 degrees view of downtown cityscape, the Gulf of Davao, and the magnificent Mount Apo, the Philippines' highest mountain peak. The inviting lure of the Mall's sky-park themed Al fresco ambiance and beautifully landscaped surrounding with its interactive fountains at the center that change its colors interchangeably is surely a happy treat to families, friends or business associates needing to shop and dine or simply hang-out and relax from the demands of the day.

Another draw is the well-lit row of restaurants along the Al fresco area near the arches. It is a perfect place for dinner dates because of the romantic view of the city at night. The Mall also provides ample parking spaces at the top floor for easy access.

THE PEAK is owned and operated by the Gaisano family of Davao whose roots originated in Cebu where the family matriarch, the late Doña Modesta Gaisano, started the retail chain in the 1970s on the ground floor of a rented house turned small restaurant-cum-shop in Colon, Cebu which later became the White Gold Department Store, predecessor of the Gaisano malls.
In 1981, after the death of Doña Modesta, her sons: David, Stephen, Henry, Victor, and John decided to split the corporation and went separate ways. The family's mall chains are currently run by the second-generation Gaisanos and their cousins. Stephen Gaisano, Jr., son of Stephen Sr., operates the Gaisano Country Malls in Cebu and Cagayan de Oro. John Gaisano, Jr. of the Davao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, runs the Gaisano Ilustre in Cebu, while the other cousins are involved in other mall-related businesses.

The family's flagship company is the DSG Sons Group, Inc. (stands for David S. Gaisano, Sr.), which owns and operates the four biggest malls in Mindanao. In the late 1980s, the group opened branches in Digos, Tagum, General Santos City, and Davao City.
