Vanishing Island |
Vanishing Island is a small strip of white sand island situated a few minutes away from the coast of Tambo, Babak in the Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS), Province of Davao del Norte. The Island is usually visible only during low tide, and is easily noticeable from a distance because of the presence of some houses floating directly on the surface of the ocean. These houses are intended for visitors who want to stay in the Island longer. During high tide, it is possible to walk on the Island with the waters reaching only just about the ankles. The Island quickly disappears during high tide, only to be visible again when the water subsides. With its crystal clear waters and breathtaking underwater view of coral wonders, the Island is surely one of the top snorkeling and diving destinations in Davao City.

DeleteWow, the anonymous person above still has it wrong. Correction: "Wrong grammar, it's supposed to be 'I thought I could only find this kind of island in Mati.'" Don't correct people unless you are correct yourself. LOL
Deletethank you for featuring and i really love this place. My family used to go there during my childhood days. I love eating Sea Urchin. Now, I have my own family, everytime we spend our vacation in Davao we never failed to visit this wonderful place.

DeleteWe used to go there when the DENR, Coast Guards had no offices there yet. Even the mangrove plants were not yet there. Hope those 2 old huts are still there when we get back to Davao. _
ReplyDeleteThe mangroves were not there yet when I went there myself years ago, but I am sure those two huts are still there. Hope you will revisit Davao soon and ask you to spread the word to your friends that Davao has progressed much over the years. Thank you.
DeleteHi! can I ask around what time is it good to go to vanishing island? We're planning to go to Davao on June and this info greatly helped. thanks!
