Villa Carmelita Inland Resort and Hotel

This is Ermelyn's Inland Resort in Toril, south of Davao City, which is popularly known as Villa Carmelita Inland Resort and Hotel. It is a nice resort-hotel along McArthur Highway in Toril, Davao City, reasonably priced, has clean and spacious rooms for overnight stay, a large outdoor swimming pool for adult (about 5-7 feet deep) with water slides and a kiddie pool (3 feet deep) which are open until 10 PM. The resort has been operating since 2009 and in June 2011, opened their 21-room Hotel.

Villa Carmelita also has cottages that are rented out for FREE, and a spacious air-conditioned function room which make the resort an ideal venue for poolside parties and small gatherings as well; a great weekend destination for families to bond and friends to simply frolic in the pool.

An in-house restaurant cafe serves reasonably priced grilled food and other delectable, including beverages. Guests may bring their own food for a low corkage of Php 40 for food and Php 20 per bottle for drinks and beverages.

Multi-Function Room

Entrance Fee is only Php 100 for adults, Php 80 for 2-10 years old, and free of charge for children below 2 years old. The fee is already inclusive of the use of the pool, slides, tables, chairs, and cottages.


The resort-hotel is conveniently located along McArthur Highway in Toril, Davao City and is approximately half an hour drive from downtown city proper of Davao where numerous Toril-bound jeepneys that pass through the resort can be easily found.

Panas Falls in New Corella

Panas Falls in New Corella, Davao del Norte

Deeply embedded within the green mountains of New Corella in Davao del Norte lies Panas Falls - a majestic beauty of nature teeming with unspoiled streams of multi-tiered watercourses and cool natural springs that cascade freely into a soothing drop of waterfalls gushing mightily into a crystal-clear catch basin of icy waters surrounded by a lush greenery of floras and faunas and a verdant canopy of fully grown forest trees which serve as a natural shade from the searing heat of the Sun, perfect for a cool leisurely dip particularly in the hot summer months. 

The site is a widely popular summer destination in the province and is frequented by locals and regularly visited by domestic travelers and foreign tourist for river trekking and water adventure. While the Falls and the area that surrounds it remain underdeveloped, Panas has drawn a strong following of nature lovers and outdoor buffs from nearby towns and cities because of the Falls' natural beauty and the many eco-tourism adventures it offers to its visitors. How to get to Panas Falls

Panas Falls is situated at, and is part of Barangay Carcor in New Corella, Davao del Norte. The site is approximately four kilometers or about 30 minutes drive of mostly bumpy rough roads through the scenic stretch of the countryside from the town proper of New Corella. 

From Davao City, there are buses at the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) in Ecoland that regularly ply to and from Tagum City, the capital town of Davao del Norte, where several jeepneys bound to and from New Corella are stationed at the Pereyhas Terminal near the Tagum City Overland Transport Integrated Terminal (TCOTIT). At New Corella town proper, there are habal-habal that regularly service visitors for a minimal fee to the site. Davao City to Tagum is about two hour bus ride.

D' Leonor Hotel Inland Resort



D' Leonor Hotel Inland Resort is a sprawling 26 hectare inland resort and adventure park nestled on a mountainous terrain in Cabantian, Davao City. It is regarded as the biggest inland resort and one of the newest attractions to the ever growing number of adventure parks in Davao City. It features a surf rider, a mini zoo, a fish pond, a zipline, a hanging bridge, a cable car, and, of course, their pride - the wavepool and the raging river. It also has tennis and basketball courts, an air conditioned chapel, commercial buildings, restaurants, a picnic area, and a clubhouse. For overnight stay, the resort has a hotel and cottages.

The Resort had its soft opening in May 14, 2011 which was attended by the owner, Leonora Lim, Davao City Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre, actor Marvin Agustin and several invited guests, including those from the media.

EMARS Wavepool



EMARS Wavepool is one of the widely popular destinations and beach resorts in Davao City. It a mid-end beach resort located along Times Beach, Matina Aplaya, Davao City. Opened to the public in July 25, 2010, it holds the distinction of being the first ever wave pool in Mindanao. It has a hotel, a bar and a restaurant, a spa, and of course, their pride - the wave pool.

The Wave Pool

The Wave Pool sits on a total area of 2,000 square meters with a nice view of the sun, sand, and the Davao Gulf. It is touted as the best and largest wave pool in Davao City. Guests can enjoy the resort by simply trolling around the wave pool in a paddle boat. There is also a Jacuzzi pool area at the center of the larger wave pool for a quieter, more relaxed enjoyment of the water under the sun. It  also features colorful water slides for kids.

Set in a tropical ambiance, the resort is filled with towering palm trees and tropical plants above a fine white sand along with concrete cottages adorned with red and white curtains all around the wave pool and beach front areas.

EMAR's Restaurant serves daily a wide array of local dishes of meat and sea food, and international cuisines. There are also Function rooms for corporate events and social functions.

Room and Accommodation

The Resort also features comfortable and clean rooms for overnight stay. The rooms are classified as Standard, Deluxe rooms, and Condotel. Each of the room features amenities such as private hot and cold showers, telephone, Wi-Fi Internet connection, Cable TV and includes a complimentary breakfast.

The Condotel includes  a mini refrigerator, a microwave oven, an oven toaster, kitchen counter and sink, an electric stove, and a dining area.

There are also non-air conditioned rooms available for the budget traveler.

How to get to EMARS Hotel, Restaurant and Beach Resort

The Resort is conveniently located within the heart of Davao City and is about 25 minutes drive from the Davao International Airport in Sasa. It is close to SM Mall of Davao, and to many commercial establishments and entertainment areas.
